you might order yourself a OBD and check it out. Or go to autozone and see, I bought a cheap OBD from amazon and I love it. Had thousands of great reviews

Maybe it's time for a rebuilt cluster. Is your temp gauge broken as well?

That is an odd one I've never run across before. I even searched on GM trucks in general and nothing like that. Internally the clusters in the GM trucks are the exact same. You can even swap them from the trucks but the mileage stays in the cluster so you need to have a replacement programmed to your correct mileage. On swaps you can use the opportunity to change the look as well like white faces gauges, Escalade style, etc.

I'd get in touch with these folks.... https://dfwclusterrepair.com/
Good company and they know what they are doing.

Its more than likely a memory chip issue on the cluster itself.
