Default what to do???

Hi there everyone my names Gabe im new here.

Well here is my story, i was trying to see if i could put new speakers in my 2008 hummer h3 because most vehicles that i have changed speakers on are the pull out and bolt kinds and when i pulled off the back door panel is was a breeze and everything and looked at the speaker and was seeing if i could change them to better aftermarket speakers such as infinity brand speakers but thats not why im putting this up, the reason is when i was putting the back drivers side door panel back up i dont know if the wire cables for the door got messed up or somthing because know my door wont open and i was wondering if theres anyway to get it to open up again. i put the door panel back on fine and everything and the wires were color labeled but when i closed the door and tried locking it the lock lever that is right above the door handle wont even move.

o btw i had the door on child lock.

Hi Gabe,
Sounds like you need to re-trace your steps and see if you pinched or broke any wires or connectors. Does your remote open all the other doors?

When you removed the door panel, try and remember if you pulled the two door senders out of there holding spots in order to give you better access. They must be seated properly to work as they are cable driven. One is for the lock, the other is for the door pull. If the lock cable was not re installed correctly, or it slipped back out of place under install, your in a bind. You could play with the lock mechanism all day with little to no effect. Your options are to see if its possible to remove the door panel while the door is closed. A nightmare based on lack of room if it can even be accomplished. Or call a company that will pop the door for you from the outside so you can remove the panel and fix the issue.

After you check the cable holders near the inside door panel, check the ones near the latch itself. Pulling on them can sometimes work them out of place. If the child lock is set somewhere in the middle, it can also cause issues. I ran across a similar issue with the front passenger. Total pain in the but to fix. But, it was the cable I had not replaced properly, totally my fault. Now I check the door more than twice before I close em up! Good Luck.
