Well I tried Plasti-Dip.....

I decided to try Plasti-Dip on the chrome grill and nerd bars on the H3. Only reason I did it is so I can peel it off if I don't like it. Here are the before and after...

I like it...looks great, just did it to my wheels on my ltz400
|
it does look great however it won't last. I did my wheels and they peeled in the first car wash.
Its a great product to try a color change out and if you don't like it just peel it off but for permanent things it just can't hack it. |
I like. What's your tire/ lift specs?
|
How is it holding up? I'm really considering on doing this to my H3.
|
@Great White, I just washed it in a automatic car wash, it is holding so far. @ Seth, The tires are Cooper Discoverer S/T 305/70-16, and I just cranked the torsion bars up until it was 1/2" lower in the front.

Looks great.

Thank you. I have owned many vehicles (mostly muscle cars), the H3 is my favorite I have owned. I originally bought it just because of it being a 5-speed. I have grown to respect the H3's off-road ability.... They are great vehicles.

I've had plastidip on my wheels now for about a year. I wheel it 2-3 times a month (nothing serious) and wash it once a week and it's held up without peeling. It's all in the application.

Application is key. I also used a matte clear on mine to keep gloss down.
I've had mine done for a year now, a few touch ups are going to be needed. Fender flares and grille. The high traffic areas, especially as she's my winter and wheelin rig. Attachment 12893 Attachment 12894 |
