Volant CAI installed, problems now.. Help??

Friday I installed the Volant cold air intake, part number 15653, I emailed volant and they told me that's the part number for the H3t Alpha.. The install took no time at all.. Problem arrive after the install of course, the truck seems to be getting to much air now.. At take off it feels great, but like 2nd or 3rd gear and stepping on it, it has a horrible delay, like the motor flutters and finally downshifts after 5-8 seconds.. I double checked everything.. Anybody have this problem?? I'm gonna call Volant tech support tomorrow to see what they can offer before I take it off and return it..

Hello, I bought also one Volant CAI for my Hummer H3 V8.
I got the exact same problem that you are described.
Did you find any solution to solve that problem?
Thanks for your reply.

Sounds like a vacuum leak. Are you sure that you connected everything back to the intake and it's tight?

Yes, I double checked the installation and everything is well connected.

I really have the same problem that Mako159 describe; it looks like this Volant CAI give to much air to the engine.
I have an idea but I don't want to make a mistake : there is two air arrival for the air box (one on the side and the other one down); there is only one on the original air box (on the side)... so I was thinking to close the down one???
What do you think about and with what???
Thanks, Greg

I called Volant and they backed their product up and allowed me to return it where I bought it. I went through tons of crap though just because I told them I installed it. It took like 2 month to get my refund just becuase the place I purchased it dealt with keystone and they didn't wanna issue the refund until they spoke with volant and they wanted to make sure they would buy the "installed" intake back from them. Long story!! lol, I ended up buying the air doc intake pipe and a k&n and that worked perfect.. I traded in my hummer about two months ago and I took the air doc intake pipe off if you or anyone has any interest?? Only reason I traded it in was the mpg, I drive over a 100 miles for work a day and it wasn't too practical for a daily driver.. LOVED the truck though... Good luck
