have an 07 h3 about 90000 miles on it. when I first start it I get an awful lot of squeaking coming from front of motor, sound like bunch of chipmunks fighting under the hood, eventually goes away when truck warms up little worried that it is something that will get worse, anyone else experiencing this.

 

Could be the water pump seal. As the engine heats up, and the seal softens/lubricates, it quiets down.

 

Belt possibly as well. Sprinkle some baby powder over the belt while it's running and see if that calms the squirrels.

 

90k miles is a lot on the original belt. Try the baby powder and if it stops, then go buy a belt... My money is on the belt...

 

Or, slack in the timing chain. If it is, don't worry because the tensioner will adjust and take up the slack.

 

Could also be an idler pulley. Had one go out on my sons Camaro it made a lot of noise too.

 

Might be a bunch of chipmunks fighting under the hood......
