trying to play mp3s

I have a 2007 H2 with a stock factory cd/radio/nav unit. Can't get it to play mp3s.

Can these vehicles REALLY not play mp3s burned onto a cd? It is a 2007 vehicle, with an expensive radio. What is going on?

I too thought were told they played MP3s and I have bought an 06 H3 and had the single cd player didn;t work. And just upgraded to the 6 cd changer and didn't work either. What gives?!
