Transfer case noise and movement
I have a 03 H2 with about 39k on it.. I got it in Dec with about 24k I drive alot of hwy but haven't takin it off road in past 8 mths at least a dozen times.. Not hard stuff little mud and some dunes it has a 4 inch rancho lift and 37 nittos.. Now for problem it is making a clunk when you go into drive or when you give it gas from a coast (like a u joint noise).. I jacked up wheels and checked all u-joints and ball joints etc.. all are good but with front wheels in the air, truck off, and in park the front driveshaft well free turn about a 1/4 turn before it catches and stops when it catches it makes about the same noise like a metal just hit metal and grabbed.. what could this be? I spent alot of time looking at old threads and didn't find one the same
THANKS!!!

Check your gear box to see how the bearings are. Mine went and it destroyed every thing inside the gear box. Cost me $3500.00 to repair. The shop told me that this is a problem with H2's since they are a tad heavy.
I had a slight vibration that you could hear and feel in the front end that I felt through the steering wheel and floof. I had it for about 35 kilometers then the drive shaft dropped. When I first felt it I stooped and took a look but could not see any thing wrong. There as a small spot of oil on the drive way as the only other indication.
Turned out to be a bearing that went in the front end.
Hope this helpped
