RE: tranny temp

considering that the tranny fluid runs through the radiator, it picks up the heat of the engine coolant. it has it's own cooler in front of the radiator, which allows it to cool before going back to the tranny, but in weather like that it will typically stay around the same as your engine temp - which if it's all stock will run around 200 degrees. (at least that's what mine does, buti'm sure it's wrong) removing the tranny fluid lines from the radiator and replacing the stock tranny cooler with a bigger one is the way to go if you don't have exceptionally cold weather. plus you won't have to worry about the radiator failing and mixing your coolant and tranny temp - not good for either the engine or transmission . . . . 200 is starting to get up there... My 03 ran 150 to 200+.... I dropped the pan and changed fluid and filter and it stayed below 200...

I was in an accident and they replaced the radiator, coolers, fluid, etcand it runs well below 100 in these Jersey temps...

yeah... you are probably good to go then.... if you want piece of mind or think it is too high then get it flushed and then YOU can start the trending...

I've seen 250 running 100 down the freeway on a 90 degree day.... so you have to decide what normal is for your truck...

im hoping with 500 miles on the odometer i wont need a flush, but i do spend alot of time in vegas so im sure keeping up on the tranny will be my #1 priority!!!
