Default Tranny question, Hard 2-3 shift (auto)

Okay guys well I made a post before about if H3's had firm shifting. After spending a little more time with my H3 it seems the main time I have a hard shift is 2-3. 1-2 is a little harder/more noticeable when going up a hill/from a slow start with a heavy foot, 2-3 is always a little harder than the others and almost feels kinda like it jumps a little. I've watched the RPMs and it seems they drop around 250-300 after the shift. The RPMs get up and then a firm shift and it drops down. It is definitely a lot more noticeable going up hills or when I've got to get the momentum going. If I am going very light/smooth or going downhill it is not nearly as pronounced. Any ideas on what this could be? Everything higher than the 2-2 shift is smooth as glass and 1-2 is usually pretty smooth, just mainly that 2-3 shift that seems to be a good bit harder/more noticeable than the other shifts. Does anyone else have this issue? Is it just the gearing in the tranny or do you guys have smooth shifting through all the shift points?

Thanks,
Spencer

my H3 shifts much harder than TrailBlazer

although they got similar drive transmissions minus the 4wd

TB is always smooth shifts that you can almost feel nothing just the tachometer drops

all my gears shifts in H3 is noticeable regardless of load (hill or not) didn't really focus but I can call them crisp fast shifts not due to slipping or worn out parts I believe , I guess it's the nature of the beast though

goodluck

thanks for the reply a7m1, is your 2-3 shift more pronounced than your others typically or are they all about the same? The only one that has me concerned is my 2-3 shift since it is definitely more noticeable than the others. I've decided the others must all be normal since they are all similar feeling

Someone on another forum mentioned to look into "4L60E 2-3 shift flare" so I am going to get to googling and see what that leads me to find

i didn't pay much attention, and i dont drive my hummer regularly now, just something to point out, i think my transmission fluid is overfilled a little o check yours nd get it to correct level but i believe it behaviour didnt change with extra fluid

but i believe shift quality about the same will focus more

but diffently TrailBlazer is alot smoother,

also clean Throttle body it helps shifting smoother termporarely that what i found out

Yep that Throttle Body to Transmission connection can't be denied?
Just like when you change the trans fluid the TB gets cleaner?

of course throttle body is part of the transmission are you kidding me ?!

believe it or not, it improved my shifts for a while
I had battery disconnected too when removed and cleaned and reinstalled my Throttle Body either it was battery? or TB cleaning but I disconnected battery several times and changed nothing

what happened, is that the idle was acting crazy after cleaned, it'll hold high rpms if reved and stay there for say 2-5 seconds a bit of gas and the rpm climb on it's own , I don't know if that means anything for The TCM and it changed it's behavior accordingly ,

so yea that's all the information I have , I have no explanation whatsoever on what was happening exactly , of course you guys started trolling at me and calling me a troll when I had a thread about TB cleaning open. apparently no body takes anything written on this forums seriously and they keep trolling each others

if it doesn't work for you doesn't mean that it's not working

have a nice day
