Default Tpsm

I got a 2006 Hummer H3 and everytime I turn the ignition on it will come up on the odometer service TPSM and then I push it and it goes away and then 30 minutes later it will pop up again and I push the odometer button and it's gone and stays off till I turn my Hummer off and back on and does it again. Does anyone know what may be causing this? All my tires are in excellent condition and all have the amount of air pressure in the tire like it should have. I've tried resetting it but I can't get it to reset for some reason and did exactly what the manual said but no luck. Oh btw i'm looking at getting some led bulbs for my fog lights and there are so many smd chips on these bulbs to choose from and I saw some ones for a H3 with 68 smd but the more the smd the more the length is of the bulb and I want to make sure I get the right amount of smd and the right size length of the bulb before buying them?

Check the TPMS sensor matching procedure in your manual. Your system is not recognizing one of the tires or you have a bad sensor. Do the relearn process and then go from there.

Do the relearn process as RKSmith stated. You could also try to put 2 pounds more in them. I switch mine to Nitro instead of air and haven't seen one light pop on in about 2 months!!

And............ what would that be?????

I'm thinkin you think that you have the correct PSI, but you don't. This is old hat, you want no issues with TPMS set all four tires on the ground (assuming you never roteted in and programmed the spare to be one of the 4 being monitored) to exactly 38PSI cold.

H3s can only monitor 4 tires, in 06 all 5 of them had a sensor so you might as well check your spare tire PSI if you are not sure which 4 are being monitored by the truck.

If after you do that you still have an issue, you may have a bad sensor. The batteries are supposed to last 10 years, but a few cough it up early.

Put 38 PSI in all four tires, then think about a repair shop. This ain't rocket science.

TPMS monitors last about 5years. The batteries are sealed so you will have to buy new ones. Buy them on line and have them installed at a tire shop

If the tire shop verifies that it is a bad sender in a wheel you are all set. If not the rest of the monitoring system needs to be checked. A pickup device near each wheel i guess, and wires going to the computer that monitors them. A lot can go wrong with wires, the position of the pickup, plugs unplugged, stuff broken. The sender is always suspect because it has a battery.

Per GM: "A GM TPMS sensor has pressure, temperature and acceleration sensors. The unit also has a radio transmitter, receiver and battery. Sensors have a 10 year /150,000 mile (240,000 km) battery life."

Hopefully yours just got "unprogrammed", and is not dead yet.

I have rotated my tires and I have reset the system before and it was fine until about a month ago. Now it trips daily. I am running more than 38 PSI because of the size of the tires. Is that the reason?
