If I remove the sensors will I just get the SERV TPM message and not the the light with the low tire picture? or will the low tire light come be on?

Does the spare sensor do anything?

 

You with get both but can clear the SERV TPM from the DIC by pushing the stick. However, the light will remain on.

Does the system monitor the spare. I am thinking about not using one in the spare. I also will not rotate the spare in. I think I will keep the tire nice looking.

 

The system can only monitor 4 sensors at a time, so no the spare is not monitored.

 

I am running without sensors. The light is NOT on, but every month or so, I get the "svc tpm" error on the display. I just puch the stick and its gone for another month or 2.

 

It does monitor the spare depending on year. My '08 comes without one in the spare. My '07 had the spare set off the monitor once. Drove me nuts 'cause my tire pressure was fine until I was told to check the spare.

 

They stopped putting sensors in the spares on mid 2007's but with that being said, the spares are not monitored unless programmed in. Meaning that if the computer is reading the spare, then there is one on the ground not being monitored because the system only monitors four sensors at one time.
