Towing over capability , need advise

Planning to get a Toy Hauler trailer( New 2015 27HFS Lightweight Lite Toy Hauler Travel Trailer camper with Slide Out | eBay) , problem is both in my list are over the 6700 pounds after adding the cargo . here it is a short resume

Dry trailer 6200
Jetski in cargo area 950

after adding propane , food , drinks , etc (no water or Batt) the weight would came out to at least 8000

max tongue weigh for the H2 is 700 and the trailer is 720 plus any addition

My truck is 90k miles
transmission cooler upgraded
all fluids are mobil1 full synthetic

All towing will be done in flats , and no more than 400 miles each way

will this set up damage the truck or tranny .

Personally I'd look into a weight distribution hitch and give it a go. I'd keep my eyes on the transmission temp and just take it easy

It will do fine. MPG will suck. Make sure to use the tow haul mode.

weight distribution hitch is a must ... The tranny temp after replacing the cooler never goes over 125 , like said before all my towing will be done in flats ( FL keys )
Maybe once a month or less ...

Mpg sucks anyway lol .... with only 200-400 miles per trip Im not too worry about it ...
Even when towing the Pop-Up ( 2000 pounds) we take it easy and give plenty of room to stop

Also I dont get why the 08-09 got 8000 tow capability when the truck frame, brakes , hitch and rear springs are the same ... Could the bigger engine and 6 speed tranny be that huge difference .

Im assuming the 03-07 is too low rated and Gm realized after a few improvements on 08-09

Will keep update after the purchase

Brakes are the limiting factor for towing with an H2. 8000 lbs is no problem at all especially on flats. Keep a safe distance and you will be just fine

I wouldn't sweat it... I've towed all my toys with my SUT including my 42' 12,500lbs boat

That's a relief . To much stress trying to match a trailer that fit my needs with the right weight

I love my H2 air suspension for towing... My 07 Escalade I had was useless, blew the lines right off the air shocks , just trying to move my boat .. lol

h2miami like others mention you will be fine just take it easy and keep a safe distance from other vehicles . my 04 its alreay picking the 170k and i had towed a few things that are just over 10000k lbs with no problems at all . last trip was from tampa to pensacola with a friends boat at 11k lbs did just fine , now MPG will SUCKK .....

I was nervous to pull 8000 now after reading your posts Im planning to go a little over 8500

Will start shopping around for a nice trailer
