Tire Size for H3X

My wife got an 07 H3X a month or so back, and while not very interested at first, I have started to like it a bit :)

I like the look of the bigger tires a lot, so started looking at tires. It seems most of the sizes discussed on this board are for the 16" rims though. The X comes with 18" rims as most of you know, and I can't find much info or pics of tires on the 18" rims. I don't wanna buy new rims, so looking for a bigger tire that will fit on these stock rims.

I have leveled the front to 23 3/4" ( and got alignment done ) and will be getting the bilstein shocks. That is all I really plan on doing, so the tires will need to be able to fit within that area.

Currently I don't really do any off roading, but I have to admit it looks kinda fun and would like to try it out. I think the H3X was built more for looks, but hopefully will still be able to do some mild off roading :)

Any inputs you guys might have would be appreciated. I believe the stock tire size is a 265/65R18. I would like to a ~35" if possible.

I used the first link to determine what speed I would be at after getting bigger tires.
The second link will convert 265/65/r18 into that 35x12.50 or whatever the size your looking for. I found it to be helpful

Stock H3x tire size is 265/65/18, I have 5 stock H3X tires on the side of my house looking for a new home.
If you want 35x12.50x18 you need a 315/75/18. I highly recommend the Mickey Thompson MTZ if you want a mud tire, that is what we have on our H3X and we love them.

Do you think I have the clearance for these. I noticed you had a 4" lift.

Do you have any pics of yours posted? I really like the MTZ's. I would still be doing a majority of driving on road and wonder how they would perform.

My H2 has a 4" lift. My H3X has the tbars cranked to 24" but the tires fit without leveling it. Our H3 is my wifes Daily driver and like I said they are awesome onroad and offroad. Here is a link to my H3X build thread there is plenty of pics in there.

Thanks for the input. That is the same color as my wifes. She won't let me do too much to it, but I am hoping she will let put on some tires. I really like the way those look.

Thanks again.

I checked the MT website and I couldn't find the MTZ's in that size for 18".

The biggest I found was LT305/70R18. The chart says that is the equivalent of the 35X12.50R18. Is this correct. I thought in your thread it said you switched to 16" rims.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Since you're going to be doing the majority of your driving on the road, I would suggest going with one of the more rugged AT tires like the Goodyear DuraTracs or Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ's. ProComp and BF Goodrich have some nice AT tires too, but I like the looks of the first two better. I personally have the Goodyear DuraTracs on my truck and they are amazing. They are better looking in person. :)

If you're looking to get into a 35" tire on your 18" wheels, then here's a couple links to the equivalent sizes for each tire.

LT325/65R18 is the 35" size for the Goodyear tires.

LT305/70R18 is the 35" size for the Mickey Thompson tires.

Here's a link to the 35" Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ's as well, since that's what you like.

The 315/75/18 tire size that Hummeron37's mentioned is a 37" tire and you would need a lift to put those on your truck.

Hope this helps!

I ment 315/75/16. Sorry. I switched the H3X rims out for stockers.
