Tire Pressure Sensor (Low Tire Warning)
I had the little low tire light come on today and stay on saying 'Low Tire Pressure'. I stopped and had them checked and all were between 42 and 45 PSI.
I have had 35" tires for the last 4 months with no issues. It appears that the spare Tire does not have a Sensor... can anyone confirm? The tire shop thought the pressure may be too high since the recommendation state 30 PSI... and the 95 degree heat may have increased it even more... so he lowered the PSI to under 40. My light is still on... Any issues with tire pressure sensors going bad? What should I be running in 35's... I hate to have to increase the pressure to over 45 PSI but if thats what it needs with the larger 35's let me know! |
ours is going into the shop tomorrow for this....they suck.

I had my tires rotated about a month ago and the tpm message keeps coming up about two or three times a month. expecially on trips over 25 -30 miles

According to the owners manual, the spare tire does have a sensor. Did you check the spare pressure?
|
This has happen to mine and I just try to make them all 35. Sometimes you just need to give them all a little air and it might come on, but it will go off after riding in it for a good 20 miles.

I upped the psi in each tire to 45 (35" tires) and the light stayed on.... Now I didn't drive it more than a mile back to the house.
I disconnected the battery and reconnected and the light is off.... for now. |
Battery in sensor could be dead , the only problem is they're non replaceable and you have to buy a new one.
|
how about getting nitrogen put in your tires??
|
i think,,,
spare has sensor, not checked by system, only 4 rotating tires
i picked brains at walmart tires while back, they talked about a "rebuild pack" including batt check it out at a tire shop |
I wouldn't take anything to walmart they use impacts on the oil plug and strip them out.
