Default tire pressure sensor

Here is an interesting one:

my tire pressure idiot light comes on about 10 minutes after I start driving...stays on for about 5 minutes then goes off. checked pressure on all tires.all within specs. This happens just about daily. Anyone have any ideas what else to check? is it possibly a bad sensor? how would I know which tire its in even if it was.....any help appreciated....

Go to your manual and read the TPMS programming procedure.

I had a similar problem.
When tires are cold the pressure is down slightly, triggering the sensor
After you drive a bit and heat them up the sensor goes off.
I solved my problem by inflating to 38 LB all around and not one false sensor trigger, even in the winter.
38 LBs is nothing to worry about if you're concerned

Yep, this^. The sensors go into sleep mode to conserve battery life and after the vehicle has been moving for a little bit it wakes the sensors up. Once the tires heat up, the tire pressure goes up with the heat (average is 1 psi per 10° fahrenheit). Adding a pound or two in each tire should keep the light off.
