Question...i just came back from the former Hummer dealer (now Cadillac) who wanted to charge me $1200 to replce my radiator & thermostat. I ended up not doing it and instead went to a Midas shop where they installed the radiator only...i do kind of regret it though because it was apparently an aftermarket radiator because it doesnt fit snug into the top wedge and therefore there is a little play that allows it to move a slightl bit to the touch.
Anyhow Midas told me that i could save the money on the thermosat (not easy to get to and about 2-3 hours of labor supposedly) because it was not necessary to replace it. I was curious if that was accurate becuase even though not alot, the radiator did have a leak for about a month cause i kept topping it off. So now im uneasy about it all...any thoughts?

 

when my h3 is running,warmed up, the gage is just under 1/2. its always there as was my previous 07.
that tells me my thermostat is working.
if it sticks,the engine will get hot,,,or cold,,not mid range.

oh,the rad wiggle. u could pull the bracket and fix it!
