Tail Light Guards

I bought a set of factory tail light guards and no instructions came with them. I'm wondering if anyone knows,
do you stick the adhesive strips directly on the painted surface or on the black plastic part of the lens?

Just seems crazy to stick it to the paint. What if you have to replace a bulb?

Thanks

White kind of tail light guards are you reffering too? Are they the ABS plastic ones from Putco? If so, I was under the understanding that they stick to the light. It's hard to say without more info.

RE: Tail Light Guards

What do you mean by FACTORY?.... factory as in OEM, or is that the name of an aftermarket company?
my Factory (OEM) tail light guards bolt on from behind the lens housing.

I'd assume that u'd have to put the sticky stuff on the black part of the lens housing so that your
able to take the hosing out to replace burnt out blubs.(like u stated).
but i'm just guessing here.

RE: Tail Light Guards

Yes they are Factory OEM and I've seen them stuck to the paint. Since mine were bought used no instructions came with them and I was just wondering how others were installed. Mine do bolt under the lens screws but the double sided tape lines up with the painted surface. I might need to bend them just a little to line up the tape with the plastic.

Thanks
