Mine mysteriously switched by themselves at start up. Happened twice.[:@]

 

This happened to mine a couple of times, I eould also get the serv 4WD light on the dash, it was the button that was stuck when I pushed it in to put it into 4w low. I guess it must of had some dirt in there or something, dunno

 

The same thing happened to the first H3 i test drove. It was a used 06. I pulled the H3 out into my yard, put it in neutral and hit the 4 wheel low button. It seemed to work fine until i tried toswitchout. I pushed every button in the car, backed up, flashed the lights, rubbed my belly and patted my head at the same time. I even read the manual. I could push the other buttons in and the low button was not stuck. I did get it to switch to high lock a couple of times after pressing both buttons at once, but it would never go to full time 4 high. The dealer ordered a new switch and that fixed it, but i had already bought a different H3by the time he got it fixed.

 

Stuck buttons is a constant problem out here with anyone that heads out to the dunes. Now mastered the art of pulling the dash panel out and removing the switch module in the desert for a clean out.
Even with the windows up and a/c on recycle sand still finds its way in there and yes had me stuck in 4lo during my early days of H3 ownership
