my 05 sut has a rattle issue with the sunroof. when its closed and im driving it rattles you can see it moving up and down. also i can push it up and down with my fingure . it just started today. any fixes with out the dealer getting involved?

I had this happen on my 2008 last winter.... The dealer had to replace the motor and track on the sunroof as it was misaligned and could not be fixed. Thank god it was covered my GM as my warrantee was still active.

Before the fix the only way I was able to stop it from vibrating was to open the roof, then close it, but stop it before it was all the way closed.... for some reason this would hold everything in place and it was closed enough to stop any water from coming in.

I have the same problem with my SUT. It's out of warranty so they'll probably laugh at me when I bring it in for service. Thinking about trading up or getting a new car altogether. Sucks because I love my SUT but I simply cannot take the rattles.
