Default Stupid question , Maybe!

Hi guys just want to know if anybody have any idea of what is the life span of a drive shaft?

I mean of course without off road which sometimes causes them to bend and damage.Just simply driving in snow, salty road etc.?

Thanks

No stupid answer pls.

Unless a driveshaft is physically damaged it should last the life of the vehicle.
It's the u-joints that wear and they should be replaced when they get sloppy, which in normal driving is not often.

No stupid questions...except the ones that have been asked and answered a hundred times. I have only spun one drive shaft into a pretzel and that was strapping a 10,000 broken truck up a 4' ledge. As stated, your u-joints will wear out eventually. The shaft should last as long as the vehicle under normal use.

Drive shafts don't wear out, however the u-joints do.
