Strange Behavior - Key, Seat Belt Stuck, Tranny Not Shifting
Hello, I own a 2007 H3x. Three weeks ago my Hummer started acting weird. It began with the seatbelt release button not working. Try as I might, I've not been able to get it to release.
A week later, my key started getting stuck in the ignition. I'd have to play with the shifter to get it to release. I figured I'd have the two issues looked at during the next oil change.
Last week, I was driving and everything was fine, aside from the two issues I mentioned. I stopped at a stop sign and suddenly had no drive at all. The truck acted like it was in neutral no matter what gear I put it. The ignition key would not come out at all. I ended up having the Hummer towed to my house. The next morning I went out and I had to charge the battery because it had died due to the key not coming out of the ignition. Once it charged, I started the truck. At first, every gear worked fine. Then only the drive gears, with no reverse. I was left scratching my head. I went out yesterday, charged the battery again, started it and this time only the drive gear worked. No reverse or 1st or 2nd.
I am very confused as to what is going on and have no idea where to begin troubleshooting this. I would appreciate any advice anyone can offer. I'm hoping these things are all related and my transmission is not toasted.

Welcome to HF.
When your key gets stuck in the ignition that means your battery is either dead, or the connection to the battery is weak, corroded, or inconsistent. It is GMs way of saying: HEY, your battery is dead!
Whenever you ask a question, miles on the vehicle would be important to aiding others in your request for diagnostic assistance.
The Transmission is controlled by the PCM, improper electrical voltage to the PCM creates all kinds of electrical gremlins. THE #1 cause, the crappy azzed OEM factory Battery Terminal Connectors. If you still have those, hack them off and replace with a quality aftermarket set like Stingers or your favorite brand. Known issue, should be THE first mod to every H3/H3T.
After you do that, if you still have Transmission issues your likely need a rebuild. In a 4X4 truck, your 4L60E AT is going to need a rebuild around 90-125K miles, depending upon maintenance, driving habits and use, earlier if abused. How many miles does your truck have and when was the last time your Trans fluid & filter were changed?
Lube the seat belt retainer with an electrical contact safe lube or electrical contact cleaner, do NOT use grease or WD40.
