Default Stereo Question for the knowledgeable!

Ok, I have searched and searched couldn't find my particular question so if I missed it, please point me in the right direction and I'll be happy to read! Now, for what I have...
'07 H3, non Adventure, non XM, but has onstar and also has single disc with monsoon sub in the rear door. I like my stereo, but want either an aux input or ipod input. How do I do this? I have read about the "PAL" units which seem to be more geared towards XM ready radios which mine is not. Can I get an aux input or do I need to replace the head unit? If I replace the head unit, do I lose all my onstar and monsoon?? I just assume not lose my Onstar and I definitely don't want to lose my Monsoon sub. Thanks in advance and let me know where to go!

OK, I have to clarify some stuff with you first. You have a single disc right? but then you say you have a Monsoon sub in the rear door?

1. Monsoon Sub would be inside the driver side rear cargo compartment not the rear door.
2. If you have the sub and amp in the driver side rear cargo compartment then you will most certianly have a 6 disc.

Heck, just post up a photo of your head unit and the driver side rear cargo compartment.

No XM, single disc Monsoon? I've only heard of that on the vehicles the special order rental vehicles from Hertz. Did you buy it new or used?

Anyway, most of the MP3 adaptors use the XM input for the signal path. There is a post or 2 on here about a "patch" some guy built and sells but I think that uses the XM input also. I'm not sure what to do with no XM and you HAVE the Monsoon.

Have you tried calling PAC? They make a ton of different adapter products. They may be able to find something that will work?

I'm using a product from isimple, gives me aux and ipod hook up that also charges the ipod. Easy install and if I recall its about $90.

If you had xm you'd still have that available too with the isimple.

Thats what I thought when I saw I had no XM. I push the Band button and it only goes to AM and FM. The stock radio only says Cd and mp3. Does not say changer. Sorry for the short sentences...replying from my android. So can i buy a simple aftermarket radio and install and still have my stock sub??

Yes they make a simple plug and play harness for the radio swap. Might as well get a double DIN nav unit with all the buzzers and whistles. A decent unit isn't really that expensive anymore.
