Sound deadening in the Hummer H2
Hey guys, what would you expect to pay for a custom audio shop to sound deaden the hummer for an after market stereo and speakers.. Am looking to upgrade the whole lot. They're suggesting premium sound deadening treatment on the doors (i.e. extra layers) and the rear archwells (where the subwoofer will be fabricated) but also soundproof the roof, floor and trunk i.e. interior out.
I know there's going to be a wide range of opinions, but looking for some advice really. Also do you think this is going to make a lot of difference ? I am not looking for competitons or crazy loudness, I like quality over level! thx |
No one done this yet?

I know this was an old post but where did you end up putting the sub, and how do you like the sound. I just like a little punch in my music, don't want to rattle all the cars around me but I like quality audio. Thanks Ted |
hey Don' no probs. i didnt see this reply, apologies. You can check the whole build here:
https://www.hummerforums.com/forum/h...e-heavy-37399/ The sound is great. Given the constraints of the enclosure, and the fact i wanted to keep the full space in the trunk i am pleased. If i was doing it again, i would have gone with a more powerful mono amp, just to give me the option to kick it up a little, but the quality is definitely there. It will make the mirror vibrate when you hit the right note, but without door panels vibrating.. I listen to the system at about 25% volume now, the sound deadening has been that effective. |
