Shock replacement, how hard?
I was reviewing the service manual and the shock replacement seems straight forward and fairly easy. Is it? Or is it a PITA?
It is about as easy as you read it with the right tools of course
Right tools? Anything special I need?
No, basic tools will do fine... Make sure you have some locking pliers for the front shocks, at the top of the shock is a nut that needs two tools to remove.
Power tools make everything better though ;) |
Thanks, got the power tools and even a socket that allows the bolt to pass through so I think it shouldn't bee too bad.
Swapping shocks should be a 1 beer per side job. Super easy, unbolt remove, replace, bolt back in.
Taint not if you have a beer helmet (2 beers a side and a funnel straw) but otherwise it could possibly even be a 1/2 beer per side up front
LMAO: Are you guys saving your beer. :D
its easy to do.... I replaced mine with the OE shocks i bought online when i did my ft upper control arms w ball joints.. you guys are too funny.

replacing H3 front shocks
I'm replacing my 2 front shocks this weekend. When I put my 35" tires on I cranked my torsion bars (more turns on driver's side) to level out the suspension. I was wondering...the Rancho 9000XL 9-way adjustable shocks are for 0-2"lift...my question is....Do I need to recrank the torsion bars or should I just install them as is and adjust AFTER install??? Never done before so ANY advise or help would be appreciated.
