self proclaimed "car whore"
I'm very happy to be back in the HUMMER family! I sold my H2 SUT back in 2008 when gas hit $4.00 and I was only getting 10 MPG.
I've had several cars/trucks since then but my last was an 09 Dodge Challenger RT.
I didnt want to be stuck with that through the winter because the Chicago land area winters can be brutal!
I remeber test driving an H3 and didnt make it throught the entire test drive because I was so unimpressed with the lack of acceleration. After looking around I noticed they added a V-8 to the H3 so the hunt was on...
I bought an 08 H3 Alpha, white with chrome KMC HD Hoss wheels.
So far I realy like it but I must say I have to get used to the difference between it and the Challenger. I still feel like it just doesnt have the "punch" I want. That said I'm sure it will outperform the Challenger on the trails anyday....
Now I'm off to find some toys to upgrade with!!!

Hello and Welcome form MI.
You may want to invest in an AirDoc CAI and Superchips Flashpaq 2865 or the Superchips Cortex 2950 to wake up the ponies in the Alpha. I have got nothing but good things to say about the AirDoc and the Cortex unit I have!
With the Cortex I can mess with these parameters and set it back to "stock" when I go in for warranty service @ the Dealer:
Adjust Fan
Adjust Rev Limiter
Adjust Shift Points
Axle Gears Calibration
Internet Updateable
Read and Clear Trouble Codes
Shift Pressure Adjustmet
Speed Limiter
Torque Converter Lockup
Oh, yeah. POST UP SOME PIX!!!

An alternate is along the same lines...
Air Doc CAI
PCMforless Tune
Improved Exhaust (I run a Magnaflow Catback)
Electric fan
Performance Filter (mixed reviews on whether this is better then the factory filter)
I have an '08 Alpha and the power boost from these mods is very noticable, and with better gas mileage.

But those are 2 great modifications to get more power to the ground from what I have heard. (Esp. the E-fan with a switch to turn it off for water crossings or to stop annoying the wheeler in front of you with the "whine"!
)My own little opinion is the Superchips has only 1 flaw over the PCMforless in terms of the Alpha. Corrected speedo for larger tires!
Where as with the Superchips you can go back to your OEM "stok" tune whenever you wish and tune to the style/type of driving you are doing at that time 91 Hi-perf./Tow/87 Perf/87 stock with options/Performance Tow. Once a PCMforless tune is done, That's it! Unless you have a spare PCM & TCM with the OEM Stock tune on it already.
