Default School me on roof racks

I like the looks of the Gobi Stealth with lights, but it's over $1500
I've seen the Smittybilt Defender, and they are way cheaper, but do they fit just as easily as the Stealth?
Does the Defender go all the way to the front?
There is a "bolt together" model that is 3 pieces. Can I add another middle piece as an extension to bring it all the way to the front?
Looks like for the H3 it's 4' wide and about 7.5' long
Do the roof racks cause wind noise on the highway at speed (80mph)?

Mine is longer than 7.5'. roof racks will cause wind noise. the gobi is expensive, but you get what you pay for. if you want to be able put some weight on it, they are the way to go

You might want to look into the Baja Rack for the FJ Cruiser with a set of H3 mounts. It is a flat rack, not too expensive, can get them with lighting accessories.

Since they are up and in the wind, while they make noise they knock MPGs as well.

You bought a Hummer, now put a rack on it, pack up the gear, and go pave some new roads. Enjoy the ability to go where you will never see a Prius.

I really don't care about MPG or wind noise. I like to have fun.

I have a BA aluminum rack. It works great and there is no noise from it. I use it all the time, last weekend I had 4 - 4x8ft sheets of drywall up there. You just have to be strong enough to put things up there lol. I do need to get a large waterproof bag for road trips.
