Screeching and Chirping Sounds From H3 Blower Fan

Occasionally, when I turn the blower fan on, I hear chirping and screeching sounds. The noise gets louder when the car brakes. When I shut the blower fan off (turn the knob to 0) the sound completely disappears. I have a 2009 H3 with about 15.5k miles on it. Has anyone else out there had this problem? Is the blower or a belt in the blower going?

You have a 2009 H3 with about 15.5k miles on it? Take it to the dealer. They will diagnose it, repair it and give you a loaner vehicle. Sounds like you have some sort of something stuck inside near the fan blade. I some how had a stem from a leaf make it all the way to the fan and the dealer took care of it.

Please post up the diagnosis and fix after they repair it.

f.y.i.........the squirrel cage is direct drive off the motor....no belt.

HEY!!! Maybe THAT'S the problem.....there's a squirrel in your squirrel cage!;)
