You both obviously didn't see Michael J Fox whoring himself and his disease out on national television ads in favor of federal funding for embryonic stem cell research.
But if you did in fact see it...It's nut hubris to disagree with the handicapped. More specifically, it is not hubris to disagree with a handicapped person, even as endearing as Fox, who puts himself out there, to visually shock you into thinking that, "oh my God, he's shaking so bad, he MUST know what he's talking about." Well sorry but he doesn't. The promises of embryonic stem cell research are just theories. They may give researchers cells with which to grow and repair human organs and cure diseased parts of the body. They may not.
All that people like Rush are saying is, TAXPAYER MONEY SHOULDN'T FUND SOMETHING LIKE THAT WHICH SO MANY PEOPLE FIND MORALLY ABHORRENT. Adult stem cells have proven to be just as viable scientifically in theory as embryonic ones.
I don't agree with everything that Rush says, but he's not a "****ING *******" as you put it...

I respect everybody's opinions on everything, but Rush has absolutely no room to critisize anybody considering his little drug addiction problem. He was out of line and could have stated his opinion in a more respectful manner. I'm sure he would love if Michael J Fox came out and told the world that Rush's drug problem was just a publicity stunt. If the tables were turned, it would be a different story. That's just my opinion though. We all have our right to it

I am and have always been one Rush's biggest "DITTO HEADS" from as far back as just before the first Gulf War...I enjoyed his far right conservatism as a contrast to the far left liberals, and yes, he's not as far right as he plays up to be, because he just want's to show how ridiculous the left is on MOST issues...I have both his books and been to two of his RUSH to Excellence concerts...The Man is awesome and a genius with his insite deeper than anybody I know.
Now, having said that...I think he's also a bloddy Hypocrite too, and it saddens me to say that, because of his drug shopping with doctors and he's so against drugs and the legalization of them, like Pot!..This is where I differ with him and think POT should be decriminalized...This is for another topic on another day..
I saw MJ Fox's plea for support of Embryonic stem cell reasearch and Rush's comments about Fox's possible exaggeration..IMO that was uncalled for and rude..But he did later retract and apologize for his remarks...Okay fine, water under the bridge.
About the Stem cells...My stand is, let's do it!..The stem cells are undefined as life and are grown in a petri dish..Did you hear me?? I said GROWN not conceived..there is no heartbeat, no blood, no brain, no nothing, just a glob of undefined cells...I feel there is merit and cause to persue this research as it has been proven on other things already to fix whats wrong with what they apply it to..Adult stem cells are too mature and the genetic code has already been established, so they are really quite useless for spinal cord and brain repair...As a tax payer, do I want to pay for it?...Sure! you bet, if will help someones life improve over whatever they are suffering from that stem cells can fix.
