Rubber piece that surrounds the key hole

The one that's on my truck is all beat up so I want to replace it. Does anyone know what this is called or where I can buy one? It's silly I know, but since it's on the drivers side I'll always see it. Thanks.

Ben

Seriously? Are you under the influence? http://www.nationalgunforum.com/imag...r_together.gif

I only notice that, when I am using armor all. Looks good to me...

Lock Cylinder Trim/Gasket.

Haha, no but if I was, maybe things like that wouldn't bother me.

Of course, I'm also addicted to buying fabric panels that cover up those nasty warning labels on the sun visors, so maybe I have a problem.

It appears to me as OCD.. Relax, there are more important things to keep your attention on; body, gauges, noises, tires, warning lights, etc.... Forgetabout the little things, and live a long life!

I can tell you its mounted on the lock assm that floats inside the hole and to get it apart is a nightmare!.
you need to take apart the outside handle and remove the inside trim.then you cant see anything at all unless you have eyes on your fingertips and have tiny hands to reach inside the door.

I had to swap locks when I changed the door. I used a air chisel and cut an opening in the inner door sheet metal.
its the only way I can imagine doing the job.

I would charge 300 to do it again!!
I repeat, its a nightmare. oh you also disconnect all the cables and get them reconnected.

did I say it was difficult?

I would use some black silicone sealer carefully around the keyhole if I had your problem. a side benefit is it would actually keep water out of the door.

Yeah, noises definitely get me, especially trim panels. Had a 69 Cougar that I loved chasing squeaks and rattles down until I could figure out where they were coming from. I think that 69 was what got me started with looking at every little thing.
