I'm Looking for a Roof Rack with a tire mount (new or used under $800) and I need suggestions for what to buy

Save up for a gobi.

 

What about a used GOBI?

 

Look all over CL and such for a used Gobi. I found mine (full rack, rear ladder, lights on front and back) for $500 from a guy who had just traded in his H2 and took the rack off when he did.

 

Yeah.... it takes some patience to find a gobi for under $1000... but they are out there...

$1000-$1200 seems to be the used price...

nothing else is worth it to me.... My Gobi is loaded past the manufacturer recomendations and Gobi's recomendations... and it is solid with no signs of stress in any way...

 

I've checked all over Craigslist and EBay and there is nothing. I'm Just going to wait until February. Maybe one will be available by then.

 

And it looks like Gobi's don't use the original rails. So I'll end up selling the original ones for about $200. But the problem is that I don't have the key.

 

None of the gobis used the rails.... just some fit over with a 4" bracket, and the new ones have a 2" bracket....

the keys can be found easily, and cheaply.....

I think there is one down south I saw on another forum for $1000.
