Default Roof Basket/Rack Help

I've searched the threads but I am still confused. We have a 2007 Tactical with no roof rack bars or anything. On the roof are a series of indents/mounting points (4) for what might be used for mounting a roof rack/basket. Am I right? And if I am, to I have to order mounts from Hummer or will after market companies have them/include them with their product? In particular I am looking at the Defender series basket from www.hummerpartsclub.com. Help me out please....this is getting frustrating. Thanks - John

As I go through the albums I see alot of H3's with roof racks and baskets, most of them very good looking. So I know someone has the knowledge to answer my pretty simple question about roof rack mounts and what my Tactical came with!!* Please help me out before I spend money don't need to........thanks.*

I have a Wilderness rack made by Garvin, it comes with it's own mounting brackets. You do NOT need the factory rails.Every basket/rack it mounted in a different way. Check with the manufacture.

A response!! Thanks. Yours looks very good - I'm assuming the mounts slip into the long plastic rail/indent that runs almost the length of the roof? I like the way it sits up a bit - not overbearing - thanks.

I have the hummer H3 factory rails with locks. I'll sell them to you if you're interested.

Yes it mounts in the tracks on the roof giving you the option to move it back and forth. I can also remove it in minutes by removing four bolts.

The Boulder Accessories H3 roof rack mounts right to the H3, in the tracks - no need for other bars.

I went with the Thule system, pops on and off in seconds when needed. If you are into function and don't like windnoise this may be the way to go. No factory parts other than the standard tracks in the roof are needed.

If you are interested in style and function there are a lot more alternatives available.
