Replacing Jounce Bumpers

Hello,

I searched the forum and although there is info on the Jounce Bumpers, I have not seen details on how to replace them. Do they simply pull out (friction fit)? I have one torn bumper in front but plan to replace both. Also found it difficult to find the part by name. Can anyone confirm 15783030 is the right part number? Listed as a 'spring' in online parts catalogs. gmpartsdepartment.com returned "was found for HUMMER, but we could not verify the part fits the selected vehicle."

Yep 15783030 is the right part number. They just pop out. Put a little liquid soap on the new one to make it easier to put in.

You may need to pry the old ones out with a large flat bladed screwdriver, but they will pop right out.
Like chrome-eater says, lube up the end of the new ones with liquid soap to make it easier to install then rinse off the soap.
DO NOT use any type of oil or grease !!!!! The lube needs to get rinsed off or else they will pop right back out.

I have used hair spray as the lube also. Slippery then it's like glue when it dries. With a little patience and a wide flat edge screwdriver they are pretty simple to replace.
