Repair shop for Hummer H2
 

Anyone here in the Chicago area or anywhere else who has a good experience with a repair shop other than the dealer, Pep Boys, Car X, Midas? . I'm starting to need repairs for the same parts, (power steering pump, alternator, battery) every 4 years or less from the dealer. And at the prices they charge it's not too much to ask for the same longevity as the original part.

I would do a dealer before Pep Boys or Midas unless it's brakes and alignment. You should call a professional auto parts store (like NAPA) in your local area, and ask them for a recommendation of a good independent shop in your area. Ask them for a shop that works on a lot of Chevy pickups.

The items you are quoting are just general maintenance items and any shop should be able to work on them. The dealer may be expensive but the work is generally warrantied and they'll use genuine parts when needed.

I've soured on the dealer I use near Chicago, after a few repairs that were done (alternator, batteries, power steering pump) had to be repaired again after 4 years.
