Removing Grille for Painting
If anyone has any tips on removing the grille, any tips would be great because im trying to paint it to match my carbon black metallic paint
|
Just took mine off for the same thing!!
1)Look into two of the grill "slits", there are 2 10MM bolts that need to be removed. 2)Pop the hood and look at the top backside of the grill on either end, near the headlight; there are 2 10MM Nuts that need to be removed. 3)Under the hood, spaced evenly off the center are 2 more 10MM bolts that need to be removed 4)There are 2 plastic clips on the outside of each headlamp that hold the grill on, pry carefully and the grill will just pop off!! |
Thanks for the info TShepp. I'll be doing the same thing to mine this summer and now I know how to get my grille off. :)

All I would add to the above instructions
Is that you can garb the outside edge of the grille (just past the edge of the turn signal light )and pull straight forward (toward you) I would not want to "pry" these plastic grille clips loose. Generally you would have to pry against the body and I would advise against that good luck |
Please let me know how it turns out for you and how you paint yours. Im looking to do mine. My friend works in auto body shop and said he could do it for me for about 50 bucks but seeing its kinda far and driving around without a grille is rough I would rather do myself if possible.
