Hey. Any of you have a remote starter on your H2? I talked to a guy at a dealer and he advised against it due to " security issues". But my regular mecahanic said he could put in and that he didn't know of any "security issues". Info, please?

 

I have a compustar, love it!!!! No security issue, not sure what that means anyways, I love my starter/alarm

 

In the new Hummer catalog - they have the advanced remote start system. Its great!

The reason why they said security problems is that aftermarket alarms and starters hot wire the vehicle. The GM one does not hot wire it but basically tells the body control module and pcm to start the vehicle and that it is OK to do so and not to bypass anything.

remote starts are awesome!!!
Cold a/c in the summer and hot seats in the winter

 

the compustar will start and shut itself off depending on the temp outside, LOVE it in the cold!!!
