Ok, my rear door hatch piece that holds my license plate is loose....I finally figured out that it was loose due to the 3m double sided tape has stopped sticking on the right hand side. My question is how do I remove the whole panel so that I can put new double sided tape on it? Do I have to take off the inside panel to access it or does it all come off if you loosen the rest of the tape?

 

Our plate is on the hard shell tire cover, but I looked at the place where it would be on the rig. (where yours is). It looks like there maybe 3m tape but also attached to the handle, and an outter ring all the way around. The different in years may be a factor though.

If you have to take it all the way off, I would use an automotive sealer/addhesive. (spelling there). I have never had luck with 3m tape.

 

They are nororius for breaking. It is covered under warranty. I had mine replaced. You have to be gentle with them it was a bad design. I always tell people to be gentle when opening it.

 

Hmm, I wonder if it's covered under the extended warranty..???? They might try to pull that it's a trim piece......but it's kinda necessary to operate the rear hatch.....
