Which radio do I have ???
Need totell which radio I have. I'm installing an aftermarket Nav system that says it's not compatible with "Monsoon" whatever the H*ll that is...
Any help in distinguishing what systems there are is greatly appreciated. 2007 H3 , 6 disc unit (factory) with no brand name labels to identify....

Ok, found a "Monsoon" emblem molded into the subwoofer cover. Is "Monsoon" Chinese for "wont work with sh*t" ??
Everything I have found, including the nav system that was perfect for me, says it wont work with the Monsoon system !! What kind of piece of junk is this thing that nothing works with it??
Reminds me of taking my wifes Mercedes to have a cd changer installed at Car Toys, and being told the Mercedes is all fiber optic, and only the dealer could install. Took it to dealer who said $3400.00 only time I can remember not being able to control the urge to laugh in someones face.
Someone please help me with suggestions, adapters, yank the whole damn thing out and start over, etc...
Thanks,
Mike

Not real keen on the "quit your bichin" remark.
As a "DR" myself (Retired Marine Biologist) I found it distasteful when others in my peer group talked down to people. I often found myself making appology to waiters, cashiers, and valets on their behalf. Then one day it hit me, it was a personality flaw, self engineered as a defense mechanism, to make one feel better about themselves. From that day, I regard those with negative comments about others, especially in an online behind-the-screen atmosphere, as weak...
But I was raised to always end a conversation, good or bad, with a positive comment.
Nice legs Tom.

Thanks for the morning laugh!!

Don't mind Tom, every small town in America has that crazy guy that walks around talking to light poles. Just ignore him and he will go ruin another thread (his light pole).

Tom,
I wasn't trying to attack your character. I was attacking the freshly shaved look your legs are sporting. After I made the comment though, I realized that professional runners and swimmers shave their legs to reduce resistance. Which brings to mind the question, How many MPG's are you getting with that set-up??
Other members- thanks for the info on the Doc's condition, didn't know. I'll try to speak slower and with less syllables in the future...
Ok, just having fun now. Time to move on, nothing to see here.

It must be something in the water...

Anyways, that was uncalled for with the stupid comments Tom, he was just asking a question. If you thought it was stupid, you didn't have to respond. Sometimes you would be better off not... Really? 1007 times? How did you make it up that high?
As far as your question goes Skin, the Monsoon system is a lot more complex than the regular sound system. I know some things work with the Monsoon system even though they were said not to. The iPod hook-up is one of those things. Check with an installer first before ordering or call the manufacturer to check fitment. A lot of places haven't tested them on the monsoon systems even though they say they do. But find out for sure before you buy anything.

Skin, like many "premium" sound systems available in newer vehicles they are conceived, built and tuned for a specific vehicle. The Monsoon is one of those animals. There are several companies who make Plug-&-Play adapters for the Monsoon system. Try PAC (pacific audio accessories), SCOSCHE.
Go to Crutchfield.com and fill out the vehicle info and search for a replacement head unit. They will list adapters also. Just don't buy it from them, Crutchfield is on the highside of the price range.
Hope this helps.
