radiator

hey! did you know the back radiator shroud comes off in like 2 seconds. Theres a knob that you bring around from the leftside and it opens up the bottum so you can slide it out threw the fan. Theres only 2 clips you push in with your thumb on each side after that. Then you pull it up. I just disoverd this while trying to get the mud out the back side of the radiator. makes it a lot easyier to clean. I've seen h2's fold down their whole front grill though. they shouldve dont that here.

RE: radiator

This was awesome information! I got into a mud pit this past weekend and the following day my H3 started running really HOT! But not to the point of boiling over. After reading your post on how to remove the radiator shield I was able to flush out all the Red Clay Mud that was clogging the fins. After a good spraying I watched all the MUD come out of the fin area and she is back to normal. Your information saved my trip this weekend. I m planning on going to Windrock this weekend in TN. And I was about to cancel because of this issue. But all is saved now! Thanks :-)

I couldn't find the knob either. I just removed the 6 nuts, and took off the grill to clean the radiator. Pretty easy.

PLEASE search first, then if you can't find your answer, then a new thread that asks for the instructions for radiator removal.

Are you going to "air cool" the motor of your HUMMER like an older Harley?

I'd use a huge box fan from Wal-Mart and an inverter.

He must be going to a total loss water/ice system. I'm guessing it's a tray with a mesh bottom mounted over the engine to take advantage of the direct engine block cooling effect of the dripping water. ;)
