questions about the 04 Hummer H2

i am in the Process of Purchasing a 2004 Hummer H2..I have been talking to a few friends and have told me to stay away from hummers because of the High Gas mileage and constant Break Downs...I am doing some research before i do actually make the purchase and want to learn if its the right vehicle for me..

I dont have an issue with gas Mileage...dont really care what gas is gonna cost,,im always gonna need it and always gonna use it,,No Matter the price..

What are the common Problems with the 2004 Hummer H2..someone was saying how much of a lemon they are...

How is the Ride Quality and steering control for the 2004 Hummer H2...does it ride like an army Tank..

If you can answer some questions for me regarding the 2004 Hummer h2..i would greatly appreciate it..

I was acutally Supposed to Purcahse a 2007 Hummer H2 But we couldnt come up with Numbers that actually worked for me...So i Bought their 04 Hummer H2 Instead...Should be taking ownership of it within the end of the week or Beginning of next week..Thanks for any answers you can give me..I sure hope i made the right purchase..

Have a 03 H2. Had it for 2 years now and bought it at 75000 miles. Changed out front bearings and thats it. Engine and drivetrain very reliable after 25000 miles on it.

I have an 04 H2 and only had to replace the 2 outside mirrors. I've had it 4 years now and wouldn't sell it for anything. The ride is great and very comfortable...you'll like yours alot!

Every car is going to have it's issues. The H2 tends to lean towards transfer case issues and hub bearings, tie-rods, etc. It's heavy vehicle and that translates into stress on moving parts. I wouldn't worry about it.
As far as the ride and how it drives? It drives great! I remember my first ride in one surprised the hell out of me. It rode better than the Navigator I had at the time. I love mine and even as big as it is, it handles pretty well because of the long, wide wheelbase.

If gas mileage is of no concern for you, then there is no other SUV out there with the same road presence as the H2. Most trucks out there have no character whatsoever...the Hummer will always evoke emotions in people, be it good or bad, but at least it will stand out. Go for it! Cheers :o

when breaking on h2 2004 hummer it did not stop and there's no noise or anything, instead of hitting a car I went and hit a pole.

I have a 06...owned it for 3 plus years & only replaced a MAF sensor & ac belt tensioner...the MAF had a leaf on it but I changed it anyway & the tensioner was a result of wheeling it...very dependable truck that rides smooth...even with a lift & 40" tires my truck rides smooth! Biggest issue I have is spending all my $ on mods!:D Congrats on your new toy!

Oh yeah don't let the HATERS get to you...there are a lot of negative people out there that do not like Hummers...

You need to press harder on the brake pedal.
