Default Question for those with PCM tune

So I'm thinking about ordering the PCM tune for my 08 H3, however I have a few questions. If I do the core exchange it says The core program requires a CASE relearn and security relearn also. What does this mean and how would I do this if I wanted to do the core exchange.

Sorry guys. After posting this I did a search and found the answer to this question. However I'm not seeing the loaner option on their site. Has anyone with a 08+ done a loaner with them?

Call them and ask about their "loaner program". They have some extreemly nice and very smart cookies at PCMforless.

What's the advantage of getting a PCM tune compared to a tune from Trifecta ?

1. I don't see the 3.5l, 3.7l I5 or HUMMER on any of the Trifecta charts.
2. PCMforless.com has done 100s of HUMMER PCM tunes with only 1 bad comment about them.
3. They are a HUMMMERforums.com sponsor.
4. Outstanding customer service.

Even better having them tune your hummer at the shop. My H3 was tuned there and was tweaked during text drive. It feels like a v8 now.

I have the 3.7 I5. With the revised shift points and tweaks from PCMforless, above 3500rpm it takes off like crazy. At slower speeds, it can feel a little sluggish since I am only turning 1500-2000rpm in 4th gear at town speeds on 285's.

I also no longer have top speed governor or Passlock fuel cutoff enabled.

PCMforless uses HPtuner to tune their PCMs. This is a very popular tuner for LS1 based GM engine. Look for local speed shops who work on Camaros/Corvettes and you may find they do their own tuning. I had mine tuned locally by FPT performance using HPtuner. I have a 3.7L on 315s and it really woke up the truck. Mine came equipped with 285s from factory but the truck feels so much more powerful now even with the bigger tires. The extra HP has also helped get me back to the 16-19mpg range. All in all the tune will pay for itself. Either you get it mail order or local you will love the results. Good luck
