Question for Dennis
Dennis I have heard talk that there is a defect in the design of the H3's cylinder head and that most H3's will experience a related serious problem once the mileage gets to about 20,000 miles. Is there any truth to this rumor? I understand the H3 head design is a new and different design than found on the tried and true Colorados. Thanks for your input.

RE: Question for Dennis
Hi Skeeet,
No truth to that rumor at all as far as I know..The few engine heads that are having problems right now are from a batch of bad ones that had poor quality control and some material problems with the valve guides...They were just a few (maybe a couple of hundred) that slipped through the cracks nation wide and ended up on a couple of hundred H3s...The fix is simple and permanent..They replaced the Head on these engines (about a days worth of labor, after about a two week wait on parts)...I even have heard that GM extended the warranty on these few...They primarily affected the earlier versions of H3s through a certain VIN range..So not all H3s will be bothered by this. |
RE: Question for Dennis
Thanks for putting me at ease with my new h3 Dennis.
