I had my new car stereo installed and such I "had" xm radio. I had a pioneer avh3100dvd installed and sub and amp. Now I told the guy I want everything working including satellite radio when I get truck back. I get truck today and I said does the satellite radio work he said I dont think so check the menu on headunit we did and such and he said it wasnt lit up. He said I need a pioneer xm module to get it to work is this true? I thought the xm tuner was above the glove box and with the gm module everything would work? Did I miss something is this guy right because if this is true I need this pioneer xm module it will cost me 175 to get and have installed. If you need any more info to answer my question please let me know.Thanks in advance.

 

The Pioneer AVH-P3100DVD is "satellite radio ready", which means that you need an additional satellite radio tuner before you can listen to your XM again.

Yeah, he's right. The factory XM module doesn't work with aftermarket head units. You might be able to find the Pioneer one on ebay a bit cheaper.

i hate when they say it's satellite ready when really you need to buy another module ...annoying... same with bluetooth
