Question: 12V DC Power - on/off when H2 is off?

I just picked up a GPS unit to add to my H2, but it stays on even when the car is off because it is getting power from the plug-in 12V DC connectors on the main console. I bought my H2 used and it has had extensive power/stereo work by the previous owner.

Should the 12V's be OFF when the car is OFF, or are they always ON? Mine seems to be the later...

I've only owned GM vehicles and it all depends on the vehicle. Some turn off with the ignitions and some stay on not matter what. My H2 keeps them on as well, I'm sure they all do.

My 12v outlets are always on. I personally prefer it that way. :D

So do I, I always hated vehicles where they turned off with the ignition!

I replaced the standard plug with a switched plug. I turn the GPS on/off from there.
