Purchased lifted 2008 H2 - Help Needed
Gentlemen, I picked a 2008 H2 that has been lifted by a previous owner. Overall the truck seems well taken care of and clean. My question/s have to do with the fabtech Lift. It has upgrade double hoop shocks so it’s not the standard 6” kit listed on fabtech’s website. The truck has 38x13.50x20 Toyos and seems like it could easily fit 40s. Could someone help me out and take a picture and measure of a stock H2 height and tire-to-fender distance gap? I have a GM 2500HD with a CST 6-8” Lift and my Hummer is easily a couple of inches taller. Basically trying to figure if this thing is cranked up or have some type of body lift in addition to the standard 6” fabtech or is a hummer really that tall to begin with. Any feedback and help is appreciated. |
If there are gaps in between the bumper and the body then it has a body lift.

looks like everything is in the right places, doesn't look like a body lift is installed.
I have an 08 but its not exactly stock height, I have 2" blocks on the rear with 37" tires with 9" between the tires and fender lip. If we take 2" out of the gap for the blocks that leaves 7" then add about 1" for tire difference then we are around 8" for stock height. I quoted the rear as the front can be changed by cranking the torsion bar keys so that measurement may not be accurate. Neal |
The area to the right of the shocks where the large wire harness is looks identical to mine and I know for sure mine does not have any lift on it. Thats why I said yours does not have a body lift on it.

It was sluggish when I first got it even with the stock tires. I put a Diablo Sport tuner and had a fellow (Lew) tune it for me, I do like the way it feels now allot more then before. The truck runs strong for a heavy truck even with the larger tires. I been getting around 10 to 11 mpg with the tires but I think the tune helped here also. The thing would pull timing driving down a flat road prior to the tune but now it rarely pulls any timing.
Prior to installing the tires I figured if I didn't like the power loss I would just find me a set of diffs from an 07 and stick them in as they came with 410 gears an the 08 & 09 came with 370 gears. I really didn't feel any loss of power from the tires but like I said I had it tuned about the same time. I'm still looking for a good deal on a set of diffs from an 07 just to have in reserve.
