Prob when backing up!
Went to back out of a parking spot and my truck acted like it was locked up or the e brake was on. It would go bck under hard acceleration but seemed to have something binding up. No probs going forward. Wondered of anyone knew of what would cause this ?

have you made hard turns going forward?
when backing out of a park space you might turn harder than regular driving. check lock mode,4hi lock? |
NA haven't done any sharp turns more than regular. Plus it does it backing straight up and its seems to back up for a few feet then it's like it binds up
|
How many times has this occurred?
|
It's done it about ten times. Now in the last two days. Sometimes it doesn't lock up then it does

Well I guess no one has had any transfer case or front diff probs like this or ever heard of it ? Sure would like some info before I have to take it to a shop and get hammered on a bunch of parts.
I'm pretty good at mech work But just don't know much about this full time 4x4 system |
i have posted pics of parking in neutral on a hill and not moving ,IF,the tc case is in a lock mode like 4hi lock.
you need to read and learn about how these things work. if you are in 4hi lock you will feel, what you are feeling. turn hard left/right. if it binds ,you are in lock mode even if you push the left button. if the fork is broke, or moves for whatever reason , you got trouble. check all conditions. binding is not normal |
What year is it and how many miles? Might be warrenty work.
|
It's a 06 with 116k on it.
The fork issue sounds like that might be my prob. And the truck does seem to lock the tires sometimes when I have it locked out and turn. That's the first ive heard of anything About the fork probs thanks. |
Plastic mode fork in t-case
Done alot of research. this is a common problem. As i type this,,my 2006 h3 is at the "stealership" fixing the same thing on mine. called GM to demand they pay for it. They didnt budge because im out of warranty. Very common prob. have read repairs cost 400-1500. Mine is 400 to repair. Hope this helps. Dont drive it too much llike this or u will cause damage to t-case!
