PRICE SURVEY

I found a price survey in a car mag. yesterday.

the price difference in between Europe and USA/CANADA is amazing:
below the European prices for what 'they' call luxury SUV:

1 €=1.32 USD

H3
BASE 49 690.00 €
AVENTURE 56 120.00 €
LUXURY 64 630.00 €

H2
Diamond Version 325 hp
BASE 98 990 €
LUXURY 103 190 €

Version S 524 hp (Magna Charger)
BASE 112 140 €
LUXURY 118 840 €

Version S “Gran Turismo” 550 hp
BASE 138 310 €
LUXURY 145 010 €

RANGE ROVER SPORT MK II :
Range Rover Sport V8 SE 64 800 €
Range Rover Sport V8 HSE 71 000 €
Range Rover Sport V8 Supercharged 80 200 €

RANGE ROVER:

5.7 V8 HEMI Limited 54900 €
5,7 V8 Hemi OVERLAND 55900 €
6,1 V8 Hemi SRT8 SRT 8 65550 €

You have noticed that the RR sport (base), the MB ML 350 (base) and the CAYENNE V6 are actually CHEAPER than the H3 (luxury)

of course these prices does not include any extra.
also:

in Europe 1 US gallon gas. = 4.55 USD.
and we have an 'eco tax' (pollution tax!) 150€/y H3, 250€/y H2.

OK, the PRIUS is also very expensive:D

All in all you're a bunch of lucky Bas...ds;););)

I have no idea what I just read!!

But as far as Mercedes and Land Rovers bieng cheaper there than the h3 in europe, thats just because of logistics really. We have to import mercedes and have them shipped here, thats alot of the money in the sticker price. I forget the actual numbers but when I worked for Ray Catena Mercedes (anyone in NY,NJ knows them) we had a breakdown in price and the importation fees and taxes were amazing.

Hey IK, be happy to be in the US could you imagine the amount of money you would be spending here in gas only with the poor mileage you've got[:@]

BTW you worked with a car importer..... hence the screen name:D:D:D

one more thing, I believe the ML is actually made in the USA and IMPORTED to Europe.

:D:D

If I lived in europe I would have way bigger problems than the money I spend on gas:D:D

Couldn't tell you where different models were made, all I know is that when we unloaded them from the truck there was always importation paperwork with em.

my screen name doesn't come because of that job, actually I loved that job....not bad when you get a Porche Boxter as a work vehicle;) My name simply comes from a Grand National racing club I made in the same name.

RE: PRICE SURVEY

Here is a funny story about the global market place. I use to live in England where they had this expression "Rip-off Britain". Well, I know why. I ordered brake rotors for my then Ford Explorer. When I got them, they said made in Northampton (England)--a city about 20 minutes from me at the time. This got me curious--could I have gotten the rotors cheaper locally? After further research, it was cheaper to order them in the States and have the heavy things shipped than to order them locally and pick them up.

You can definitely order an H3 in the States and ship it over to Europe and pay duty and taxes. The only issue I have found is warranty. If you ship a used Hummer over out of warranty then you won't have to worry about that one. It is a hassle a bit to ship it over, but they do have companies to help take the pain out. However, doing it yourself will save you even more money just not the grey hairs.
