Pressing gas and not going sometimes???
Hi, I have a 1996 Hummer H1 turbo diesel. I have had more problems than I can count with this truck... Been towed 6 times during normal street driving and spent over $20,000 in repairs over 2 years. About to give up on my love...
My newest bug is I will be driving along. Come to a stop light, start to press the gas pedal and it will go all the way down and nothing happens. No engine rev. no go. I release the pedal and try again and its fine. Well if making a left turn this could be pretty dangerous! Any thoughts as to what could be wrong? Taking it to dealer is one of those things that you describe and they charge $350 to tell you they could not repeat the issue... |
Have you checked you transmission fluid level. Mine was doing that so I made sure 1) on level ground 2) engine up to 190 degrees 3) fill it until it is in the crosshatches. I was surprised that it was less than 1/4" down from the crosshatches that it took a whole bottle.
If you are really low on T-fluid, pull the check plug from your transfer case. If a lot pours out then your transmission fluid is going into your transfer case. That means you have the vampire... ATF Vampire |
Would low fluid cause the gas pedal to not respond at times as I have described?
Regardless, All fluids are at normal level. And I have already changed both shift solenoids in transmission. |
After some research it might be this sensor on the gas pedal. The whole assembly is AC Delco part 213-2820
But I am going to try just a seonsor that might work too BWD - Accelerator Pedal Sensor Part # PPS1029 |
