Hi guys, I'm new. Just bought myself a 2007 H2. I had a 2004 a couple years ago but had to sell it for financial reasons. We really missed it pulling our 8000lb boat, so I finally found another one.

Anyway, I was ready to buy a Max Energy Programmer, Magnaflow Cat Back Exhaust system and Volant Cold Air intake with sensor, to improve my towing power and hopefully my MPG. We're going to Havasu the end of the month, so I figure if I can improve my mileage by a mile or two (or 3?) it will help pay for this stuff on our 3500 mile trip.

So, I've been reading the forum for the past week or so deciding what to buy, and I had decided on the above. Then just tonight, I ran across the Predator Stage 2 setup. Nothing I can find in here about it though. It seems to be about the same price as the other 3 put together and yet they claim much higher gains in HP. What they don't state is whether or not I'll get any MPG gains also. Has anyone installed one of their Stage 2 or 3 systems?

Help me out here, I can get the other 3 items for around $1500 on the Internet. Predator is more expensive, but I read they offer forum users a discount so maybe be about the same after that? Also, it says there is a core charge and exchange for the ECM. Does that mean I can never go back to stock? And does it mean it will void my warranty?

Any and all help is very much appreciated. I know Predator monitors this forum and I would welcome their information as well, but I really want testimonials.

One more thing, is the Stage 3 really worth it, just to add the headers? I am very mechanical, so I don't think it will be a problem installing everything so long as I don't have to remove the engine or do any welding. All bolt on, right?

How much HP gain have you seen and how much MPG increase by installing their system?

Sorry for the long post, but have a lot of questions and need them answered to I can get moving and get this done before our trip.

Did you every get your answer, or which system did you decide on? I am thinking the exact same setup but curious about being able to go back to stock with the Predator Stage2 setup.

By the way Lake HAVASU rocks...If you go on major holiday or Spring Break your in for great treat. Lots of partying over there bring some sun block cause it get up to 120 degrees.

 

No offense, but if you wanted more power and a little better gas milage you shoulda bought a 2008+ h2 with the 395 horsepower and 6 speed transmission.

For gas milage, things you can do are:
remove roof rack bars
inflate tires to a little less than max psi
use mobile 1 fully synthetic gas saving eco-oil
remove rear tire and extra weight (although for a long trip taking the tire is probably better safety)

The gas you will save by doing intake and other mods is very small. Some people have reported using MORE gas with those mods. DO a search on the various hummer forums and you will get tons of info.
