Hi everyone, I need your help. My power door locks have stopped working, they will not lock when it is put in gear and will not activate with the remotes or the door switch. I have checked the fuse and it is fine. Any ideas ?????

 

Something like that should still be under warrenty I would take it to the dealership if you are close enought and have them look at it, unless somebody else has seen this. Something like that could be anything from a program issue to anything electrical. Could be tough to trace.

 

that exact thing happened to me about a week ago! i manually unlocked the door and put the key in the ignition, started the truck and let it run for a few, then shut it off and removed the key. When i tried the key fob it worked after that and so far no issues. The VATS system sometimes has to re-align itself and this is done when the key is in the ignition.

First off, do they work with the button on the door? If not I am not sure what it is. If they do work with the button on the door then you may want to try reprogramming them. The following is directly out of my owners manual for reprograming the locks.

Automatic Door Locks

This feature allows you to program your door locks to a

preferred setting.

To set your choice for this feature, perform the

following steps:

1. With the engine off, turn the key to LOCK. Do not

remove the key from the ignition.

2. Press and hold the power door lock button for

approximately three seconds until the DIC

display shows the current door lock mode.

3. To view the next available mode, press and hold

the reset stem for approximately two seconds.

Release the reset stem and press and hold again to

view each mode.

4. Once the desired mode is shown on the DIC

display, briefly press the reset stem to set your

choice. The DIC display will then clear.

The following are the available modes:

Lock 1 (default):

On vehicles with an automatic

transmission, this mode locks all of the doors when the

vehicle is shifted out of PARK (P) and unlocks all of

the doors when the vehicle is shifted into PARK (P).

On vehicles with a manual transmission, this mode locks

all of the doors when the vehicle speed is greater

than 15 mph (24 km/h) and unlocks all of the doors

when the key is removed from the ignition.

Lock 2:

On vehicles with an automatic transmission,

this mode locks all of the doors when the vehicle

is shifted out of PARK (P) and unlocks the driver’s door

when the vehicle is shifted into PARK (P).

On vehicles with a manual transmission, this mode

locks all of the doors when the vehicle speed is greater

than 15 mph (24 km/h) and unlocks the driver’s door

when the key is removed from the ignition.

Lock 3:

On vehicles with an automatic transmission,

this mode locks all of the doors when the vehicle

is shifted out of PARK (P). The doors will not

automatically unlock.

On vehicles with a manual transmission, this mode

locks all of the doors when the vehicle speed is

greater than 15 mph (24 km/h). The doors will not

automatically unlock.

 

Thanks for the help, I tried Hthree alpha's idea and it did not work also they do not work with the button on the drivers door either i can faintly hear the switch clicking but nothing as far as locking or unlocking. the alarm system still functions and the parking lights signal an apparent locking and unlocking so I'm completely lost for this one. any other ideas? My plan is to call the dealership Monday and see when I can get it in if I can not get it with the forums help.

Sounds like the door harness. Had the same happen to mine. Seems that the plastic clip that holds the harness in the door can breakoff which allows the harness to unplug from the door control module. Easy fix but they need to take your door panel off which can lead to rattles and squeaks afterwards if they don't due the job properly.

 

Same thing happened to me today;

however for me, my driver side window doesn't work, nor does the PDLs on the driver/passenger side.. weird thing too, is that all the other window controls work from the drivers side, just not the drivers window..

its at the dealership now,, hopefully I can shed some light when I get it back..

 

Update from me;

got the vehicle back, the dealer replaced both driver side and passenger side switches, and problem fixed.

 

Great call KTM...one of my rear doors had not been locking by remote and I didn't know it til the other day. I went to let my daughter out and I kept hitting the unlock and couldn't open the door. So I'm standing there telling her somewhat loudly to quit locking the door whenever I unlocked it. Needless to say her and her brother got a trip to Dairy Queen after I finally figured it out. Just got done taking off the door panel and sure enough the power plug had come out.
