OK I get it, now. Advertising your business makes all the sense in the world.

Personally, I hardly ever listen to the radio. When I'm driving, I'm usually thinking. Radio is a distraction. Only when I get tired and sleepy on a long trip will I turn on the radio, usually Fox news or the '50s channel.

Yeah, I know, I'm an old geezer.

I must be too! haha... And I am not even going to talk about how country music doesn't need to be loud again. I already got ribbed for that one!

I rest my case..Who are you to determine "cool" ? You just lost your argument for the rolling speaker..which others on this board have taken issue with...by admitting to "cranking" the sound at red lights..Ridiculous....

To be honest, I don't really care if you or anyone else takes issue with my "rolling speaker". I don't answer to you or anyone else, and went out of my way to be polite and explain myself. However, I no longer feel the need to be polite.

Perhaps you should go back and read as I clearly stated that I don't roll around blasting my system 24/7, I listen to it at a completely respectable volume. However, if I roll up to a red light and some kid is sitting there in his Civic hatchback with ground effects and all his windows rolled down blasting his shoddy weekend warrior system of course I'm going to crank mine.

I see that you're a concealed carry permit holder, as am I. Just because you carry a firearm, does it mean that you're walking around unloading mags into things all day long? No? Well just because I have a system in my truck doesn't mean I roll around all day blasting it either.

I don't see how this would be any different than a high performance vehicle at a red light with a loud exhaust, or people that sit and rev their engines at each other, which I'm sure you don't have a problem with.

Let's take a look here at your post history and see if we can't discern a few things.

Seems I was right about the exhaust noise, you obviously have no problem with it. Interesting, I wonder why a loud exhaust is alright, yet a loud stereo isn't?

Sound systems themselves are not illegal, the level of noise that they produce is. My system is actually rather tame, coming in at around 102 decibels maxed out, which it is never played at on the street. Many exhausts come in at well over 105 decibels. If this is how you feel then perhaps we should start pulling over every tuned or built car or truck, Harley, and sports bike that goes screaming by. I say this in all fairness and equality, being a motorcycle owner myself.

Ok, so here is a post in reference to someone putting a Kicker L7 in their H3, he also had some big wheels, and a few other things done to it. Why do people have to be classified into a "Culture" because they have big wheels or loud stereos?

Here's an "East LA" reference, interesting.

And yet another East LA reference right here in this very thread. You obviously seem to have a problem with "East LA", and the "Culture" associated with custom sound systems, big shiny wheels, and "bling bling". If we look at the demographic in the Eastern L.A. area, it has been minority dominant for quite awhile now, which is obviously why you keep mentioning it. At this point it would be safe to assume that the only reason my stereo system is a problem for you is because you're highly racist.

I'm willing to bet if a middle aged white gentleman went tearing down the street on a Fat Boy exhaust screaming, that would be just fine in your book. But what if a vehicle went by with large chrome wheels, a stereo system blasting loud rap music, and a dark skinned driver at the wheel? I'm willing to bet the visible scowl on your face would be a sight to behold.

I'm curious about the line you've drawn in your mind. The line where certain things that "ozark1" has deemed acceptable are perfectly fine, but others that you perceive to be associated with a certain "Culture" or demographic are unacceptable.

Who are YOU to determine peoples reasoning or motivation behind doing what THEY want to do to their vehicle that THEY pay for. Your sense of entitlement is astounding.

The only thing "Ridiculous" in this thread is your blatant racism.

I actually never asked for input on my system anywhere, but thanks. I can actually take the heat just fine when arguments are formulated on a solid foundation other than "dats what them thar darkies be doin and i dont like it no sir not one bit".

However, this is America, and I will defend your right to do, say, and be as racist as you please until my last breath even if I don't agree with it. Based on some of your posts surrounding political views I would hope you feel the same way being as conservative as you are, even when it doesn't serve your personal opinions or agenda to do so.

So what if someone wants to put their H3 on 24 inch rims with paper thin tires, have a huge stereo system, and fill it up with TV's? Just because these things are generally associated with an urban culture you don't happen to agree with doesn't mean they're any more right or wrong than mud tires and a winch.

Bottom line is its all subjective based on your view point, don't stuff people into boxes because they like or do certain things to their vehicles. Also, it would serve you well to be a little less racist at times and judge people by the person they are, and not the culture they seem to be associated with.

At my shop I regularly do business with an ex-Latino gang member who owns multiple vehicles that we have worked on. One of them has a crazy paint job, they all have large chrome rims, they all have decent stereo systems, and his SUV has a large LCD TV mounted onto the rear door with a PlayStation 3 hooked up to it. He always wears "urban" clothes, has tattoo's on his head and face, and frankly he would scare any poor woman to death if she ran into him in a dark alley.

Now you can look at all of those things and write him off, or you can get to know him like I know him. I know him as the person who goes out of his way to bring me lunch when I have been working on his vehicle all day. He's the customer who never gives me any lip like some of our other customers who are perceived to be "high class" when a package doesn't show up on time, or I just simply can't finish the work on time due to an unforeseen circumstance. I also know him as the person who spends his free time talking to kids, attending seminars as a speaker, and trying to educate people on the mistakes he made in life and how long it has taken him to turn his life around and recover.

You should be judging this man by the fact that he works hard to support his wife and kids through legitimate business ventures and still has enough extra income to do as he pleases to his vehicles. What you shouldn't be judging this man by is how big and shiny his rims are.

I used to think along the same lines as you and I missed out on having some great people in my life because I never gave them a chance.

Give everyone a chance until they give you a reason to do otherwise, don't judge a book by its cover, and let people express themselves however they want even if you don't agree with it. I don't have a problem with you not being a fan of my system because its not your taste, I have a problem you not liking it because of its perceived associations.

All I'm saying is when you take two things similar in noise levels like exhaust and stereo systems, and you like one but not the other because its "Ghetto", that's just silly. Perhaps you don't see it this way because we think different, but that's like an apple being better than an orange, not because you like apples better, but because the orange is being held by a black man.

Also, just to put it out there, I don't feel this way because I'm any of the aforementioned minorities. I'm an American born and raised Greek/Italian/Caucasian mix. I feel this way because we're all humans and whether we like it or not, we're all stuck on the same pale blue dot drifting through space.
